The name of this club shall be: Crosslake Area Garden Club.
The purpose of this organization shall be to promote and encourage all forms of horticulture through home and community gardening.
Section 1: Regular members shall consist of dues-paying people who are interested in gardening and are willing to assume their share of the responsibilities.
Section 2: Honorary members are those who have been members for over ten years and have held an office and/or have actively served on a committee. They will be selected and confirmed by the Board of Directors and will be recognized at the December meeting. They do not pay dues, but enjoy all that the club has to offer and will be designated in the annual yearbook with an asterisk by their name.
Section 1: The officers shall be president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
Section 2: President: The president shall preside at all club meetings, and shall serve as an ex-officio member of all standing committees except the Nominating Committee and be the alternate signature on the checking account.
Section 3: Vice President: The vice president shall assume the duties of the president when the president is absent, chair the Program Committee, submit a complete program for the following year at the September membership meeting.
Section 4: Secretary: The secretary shall record the minutes of all board and membership meetings, maintain official files, e-mail and present copies of the minutes at the monthly meetings.
Section 5: Treasurer: The treasurer shall keep record of all monies, pay all bills, collect dues, prepare an annual financial statement, facilitate the yearly budget and update membership.
Officers’ Terms and Elections
Elections shall take place at the September meetings. The president and secretary shall be elected in even-numbered years for a term of two years. The vice president and treasurer shall be elected in odd-numbered years. All officers will assume their duties in January following election. If an officer cannot fulfill his/her duties, a replacement will be appointed by the remaining officers.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors shall include the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, chairman of each committee and the immediate past officers If the chair-man of a committee cannot attend a Board meeting he/she shall delegate another member of his/her committee to attend. The board of directors shall meet four times a year, mid quarter.
The fiscal year shall be from January 1st through December 31st.
